Family fun every Saturday (weather permitting) at the Roche-a-Cri Sledding Hill just west of County Z on Czech Avenue from 1PM to 4PM. Hot Chocolate and Hot Dogs will be available.

5th Annual Lake Classic Auto Show

Saturday, September 7th the annual Lake Classic Auto Show will be held 9AM to 3PM rain or shine at the South Lake Center at Lake Arrowhead in the Town of Rome.
There will be 19 car classes and 3 trophies awarded per class, and trophies for Best of Show, People’s Choice and Sponsor’s Choice. Show fee is $8/car pre-registered or $10/car the day of show. Free admission for all spectators.  All profits will be donated to Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

Labor Day Weekend

The "Last Weekend" of summer is almost here - don't miss out on these fun events.

Friday August 30th bring a non perishable food item for the Adams County Food Pantry for free admission to the Lake Arrowhead Community Chorus Concert beginning at 7PM at the Lake Arrowhead Clubhouse in the Town of Rome.

If you're hungry, Saturday and Sunday, August 31st and September 1st, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Friendship is having a Bake Sale. Stop in for some delicious homemade treats.

If you like racing and jet skis, the final two rounds of the Great Lakes Watercross season will held on Lake Petenwell Saturday and Sunday. Watch the fun from the Lure Bar and Grill in the Town of Rome - get event schedule here Rounds 5 & 6

Also on Saturday is the Lake Arrowhead Craft Show beginning at 9AM. This is one of the best shows in Central Wisconsin with over 100 vendors. Be sure to stop in at the Lake Arrowhead Clubhouse in the Town of Rome.

Sunday Morning start the day off with a great Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Quincy Fire Department. The event will be at Castle Rock Lake Park from 7AM to 11AM.

For a whole day of family fun head to White Creek Lions Park in White Creek at 11:30AM for the Labor Day Celebration sponsored by the Easton-White Creek Lions. Enjoy  horseshoe tournaments, flea market, kids tractor pull and a great BBQ chicken dinner.

Upcoming Events at Roche-a-Cri State Park

Roche-a-Cri State Park is located 1 1/2 miles north of Adams-Friendship and offers 605 acres of woods with trails and a creek for outdoor recreation.  Here are some upcoming events for this month

Saturday June 22th at 2PM a Roche-A-Cri State Park Naturalist  will host "Wild About Weather" at the Mound shelter.  You can learn how to be a camping weather forecaster and make a weather related art project. This program is free and for all ages.

Saturday June 29th at 3PM bring your camera and hike with Shirley and Doyle Gates and get tips on taking outdoor photos. Meet at the kiosk picnic area.

Also June 29th there will be a Candlelight Night Hike. Join in an evening naturalist program and then hike a 1-mile tiki torch-lit trail. Meet at the kiosk picnic shelter at 7:30PM.

Not Your Average Triathlon

It really is Not Your Average Triathlon.

Saturday May 25th head to The Lure Bar & Grill at Barnum Bay Marina in the Town of Rome and try one event, or all three! This is an untimed event to benefit the Lester Public Library of Rome.

You can kayak 1 to 3 miles on the marked course on Lake Petenwell (bring your own kayak and safety equipment), walk 1 to 3 miles through the Barnum Bay Subdivision and easement trail on Lake Petenwell and/or bike 3 to 10 miles in Barnum Bay Subdivision (helmets required).

Register on-line by May 17th and get a t-shirt. NYAT

Fisheree Time in Adams County

As if you needed an excuse to go fishing - there are three fisherees coming up in Adams County!

Saturday January 19th head to Lake Sherwood Lodge in the Town of Rome for the Lake Sherwood Fisheree. Registration begins at 7AM, $10/adults $5/children 12 and under, and fishing is from 8AM to 4PM. Biggest fish categories include Walleye, Northern and Bass, and for children biggest Bluegill.

Also on the 19th is the Lake Mason Lions Club Annual Winter Fisheree from 5AM to 3PM at the Wagon Wheel Campground west of Briggsville. Registration is $5.

And Sunday January 27th is the Castle Rock Bassmasters Annual Fisheree on Friendship Lake in Friendship from 10AM to 3PM.

Parade of Trees

Be sure and stop by Moundview Memorial Hospital in Friendship from now until December 24th to check out the "Parade of Trees", each decorated by a local business. Choose which tree you like the best and enter their raffle. Viewing is open during normal business hours - 8:30AM-8:30PM

50th Annual Corn-N-Tater Fest

The 50th annual Corn-N-Tater Festival is this Sunday, August 19th, at Grand Marsh Lions Park from 11AM to 4PM.

Don't miss the delicious meal of roast beef, baked potato, corn on the cob and beverage - cost is $8/adults $5.50/kids. There will also be bingo, kids rides, flea market, crafts, and Maggie Mae and The Heartland Country Band will be performing.

Rec Days

The Roche-A-Cri Lions will be hosting Rec Days July 20th to 22nd at Arkdale Lions Park.

Three days of family fun include Softball & Horseshoe Tournaments, kids tractor pull, games, food and music.  Saturday there will be a"Grilled Chix Nic" and fireworks at dusk (weather permitting).  Sunday start your day with a Pancake Breakfast then check out the "d'Elegance Car & Truck Show" and the parade.

Centennial Celebration

It all started with a railroad 100 years ago. 

The City of Adams is celebrating it's Centennial July 4th to 7th!  Opening ceremonies begin at 8AM on the 4th with the raising of the flag by the Mayor, and fun activities and events will be happening all around Adams and Friendship.

Wednesday's festivities include the 4th of July parade at 10AM and the Hobo Fire Lighting in Burt Morris Park at 6PM. Thursday you can picnic with the Hobos in Curves parking lot from 11:30AM-1:30PM and hear the Community Band at a Pie Social in Lions Park from 5PM-8PM.

Friday see Model Railroad and City displays at the Community Center from 10AM-4PM and listen to the A-F Jazz Band perform at Burt Morris Park from 5:30PM-7PM. Saturday there is a Pancake Breakfast at the Burt Morris Pavilion from 8:30AM-11AM and Antique Tractor Rides at Burt Morris Park from 10AM-4PM; the celebration ends with fireworks at 9:30PM.

Night Hike in Roche-A-Cri Park

This Saturday come out and see nature in the dark at the park.

June 23rd Roche-A-Cri State Park in Friendship will host a Night Hike.  Beginning at twilight (around 7PM) there will be an educational program at the Kiosk picnic shelter, followed by a hike on a path lit by tiki torches from 8PM to 10PM.  Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Roche-A-Cri.

Not Your Average Triathlon

Not your average athlete? Then you should be at the Not Your Average Triathlon this Saturday, May 26th, at the Lure Bar and Grill in the Town of Rome.

From 8AM-Noon you to try your hand at one, two or all three fun skills: bike, walk and canoe/kayak. It is an untimed triathlon, so everyone can join in on the fun.  There will also be Community Sponsored Booths on health and wellness activities, a post event lunch and raffle.

Chili Fiesta

The Adams County Humane Society is hosting a Chili Fiesta Saturday April 14th from 11AM to 4PM at the Friendship Village Hall.  There will be lots of delicious homemade chili with many toppings options, beverages and desserts.  Cost is $5/adults and $2.50/kids.  There will also be crafts, baked goods and ACHS t-shirts for sale. Proceeds will go to the Adams County Humane Society.
